Best Movies of 2012

I know that the year isn't officially over yet, but all of the entertainment moguls are starting to compile their lists of the bests of 2012. It has been a big year in the entertainment business and it's always fun to look back and highlight what has happened in a year. This post will highlight what has been done in film this year. I am making my best attempt at making a list with the best movies of 2012 on it. It's hard, all things considered, to represent every category and genre while recognizing what films deserve to be on the list. This list includes only movies that have hit theaters as of today. There is no way to know how the films yet to be released will measure up to this list.  But I did my best and decided to share it with you. Feel free to share your comments below of your favorite films of 2012.

The Big Miracle A touching, sparkling film that fills you with hope and life. Great acting and an even better script.

The Hunger Games Epic, nontraditional, true to the book and very impressive acting by some very talented young Hollywood stars.

Rock of Ages Hysterical script, brilliant choice of cast and quirky songs that get stuck in your head and you love every second of it. The best part Russell Brand & Alec Baldwin.

Ted So utterly hilarious, best comedy movie that has been done in a long while. A talking bear who swears and makes bad life choices = nonstop laugher.

Seeking a Friend for the End of the World This gets the award for the biggest shock of the year. I had no idea how sad this film would be. Superb acting and one of the best plots to come along in years.

The Amazing Spiderman An honest to God good remake. Better than the first trilogy.

Hope Springs MERYL STREEP and Tommy Lee Jones, if you need extra convincing that this deserves to be on this list then I say to you Steve Carrell.

The Dark Knight Rises Best of the trilogy, Tom Hardy shakes up the entire franchise with an excellent portrayal of Bane.

The Odd Life of Timothy Green Adorable story all about embracing yourself and knowing who you are and what's important in life.

Lincoln Historical piece with a lot of flavor, Tommy Lee Jones at his finest.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower I felt infinite watching this movie. Puts your teenage years in great perspective.

Won't Back Down As a teacher this movie really touched my heart. It was a great movie and I hope that Viola Davis gets recognized for her acting.

Think Like A Man Hysterical and well put. Definitely a movie to watch with the girls.

Argo Ben Affleck will definitely get nominations up the wazoo for this one. Best movie I have seen in a long time.

Skyfall Again, just like The Dark Knight Rises this is the best of the trilogy. It stands apart from the others.

Breaking Dawn Part II The end of an era, beautifully crafted and the actors definitely stepped up to the challenge.

What were your favorite movies this year?
