Movies to Watch When You've Had a Bad Day

Bad days are the worst. Whether you had a horrible day at work, got into a fight with someone you care about or just woke up on the wrong side of the bed...bad days are awful! I find when I have a bad day and I finally get home, all I want to do is forget the whole thing. I want to do something that is totally going to take me to another place. Movies are the best ticket for a bad day. You put one of these babies on and the next thing you know you are so immersed in the film, that you forgot about why you were so upset in the first place. Here is my list for you, divided into two different sublists. Sometimes you need to watch a movie that is going to make you feel worse about life and sometimes you need to watch one that is going to make you feel better. Either way, crack open a bottle of wine and watch one of these.

Movies to Watch to Make You Feel Worse Before You Feel Better
It's a Wonderful Life Sadness, despair, attempted suicide and then an unbelievably happy ending. This movie has every ingredient for a bad day movie. It just so happens that its also perfect right now because it's Christmastime.

Office Space This movie will make you feel worse (if you bad day is work related) but as the film goes on you will feel better. Plus it's loaded with one-liners that you can say to yourself the next day at work to get through the day.

When Harry Met Sally This movie makes a lot of us feel sad, but the one thing I always feel at the end is hopeful. Hope is a very strong emotion for people, especially after a crapshoot of a day.

The Notebook This movie is so heartwarming that no matter what kind of day you have had, you will shed a tear. Crying is good for the soul, this movie will make you cry and rid yourself of all the negativity.

Movies That Will Automatically Make You Forget Anything Bad Ever Happened
The Princess Bride I can't think about anything but the hilarity of this film while I am watching it. It automatically transports you to another world of the pirates, princesses, giants and idiots.

Tangled Disney definitely did something really right with this one. I love this movie because it literally makes you feel happy. Happiness just pours out of the screen and into you like one of the floating lanterns of light.

Finding Nemo  Dory will make you feel better. This is no doubt in my mind that no matter what has happened, you will at least crack a smile when Dory can't remember Nemo's name.

Mrs. Doubtfire "Helloooo" Robin Williams is the number one funny man in the world. Nothing is better than watching Robin Williams after a negative day.

Mamma Mia All the singing and dancing, not to mention Pierce Brosnan pretending he can sing makes this movie top notch. Much like The Princess Bride you will forget anything bad happened because your mind wil be vacationing with Meryl Streep in Greece.
