I just finished reading a great book. I love to read, but I am also picky, I have to find just the right book. If you are looking for a book that mixes family issues, romance and Meryl Streep then I have found the book for you. The book is titled The Meryl Streep Movie Club by Mia March. It takes place at the Three Captains Inn located on the coast of Maine in a small town. It centers around two sisters and their cousin as they all come home to the inn that they grew up inn to hear an announcement from their aunt. The back story is that the three girls lived with their Aunt Lolly because June & Isabel's mother and father died in the same car accident that killed Kat's father; all killed by a drunk driver.
Now, the girls are all grown up and going through immense, heart-breaking and life-altering issues. They all come back to the Three Captains Inn and through their rekindling of relationships and through the watching of Meryl Streep films, they all find themselves again. It is a beautiful story but it is also skillfully written. The emotions of the characters are present in a way that you feel as if you have known them for years. The storyline has twists and turns that keep you interested. The best part is the Meryl Streep films that are literally weaved into the storyline. Each character has three movies throughout that are matched with their character's issue that they are facing.
The writer and I could obviously be friends because we have immense knowledge on Meryl Streep. Definitely a good read, whether you love Meryl Streep movies like the back of your hand or want to learn a little bit more.
