Gone Girl

If you are looking for your last book to read at the beach/pool this summer, look no further. Pick up a copy of Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. Trust me, you will not be sorry.

I got my hands on a copy of this book at The View when I went for my taping of the episode that featured Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones. Gillian Flynn was also there to promote this book and the audience received a free copy. I have always loved to read, so I was excited to get a book for free. The interview allowed me to hear all about the book and I became highly intrigued. The book is a thriller that keeps you guessing the whole way through. If you are like me and like to make predictions when you read, you will love this one. Some of my predictions turned out to be dead on and others were completely crazy. The curve-balls that get thrown at you through this one are fabulous and the writing is a rare beauty.

I finished the book in a little over two days. I had a hard time putting it down to do other things. I don't want to give away too much of the plot, because it is oh so much fun to delve into it yourself. But here's a snippet: Amy and Nick have been married for five years. Amy then disappears on the morning of their fifth wedding anniversary. All signs point to Nick as the suspect and...that's all I am going to tell you.

I would suggest picking up a copy for you and a friend so that you can discuss your way through the book. I really enjoyed being able to talk with my sister as we read through it. Enjoy :)
