This is a time when Jentertainment is behind the times. Last week I had the privilege of watching Bernie, starring Jack Black, Shirley MacLaine, and Matthew McConaughey. It's an outright amazing film that is based on a true story that took place in Texas. Black plays Bernie Tiede, a mortician who befriends all the little old widows in the town.
He befriends one certain widow, Mrs. Majorie Nugent, and becomes her lifelong slave. The story follows him as he kills her and then tries to cover up her death. Sounds intriguing, I know! The best part of the movie is that it is done documentary style. Frame by frame you are brought through the true story and then through mock interviews with the surrounding "deep south Texas" town.
Watch it on Netflix. You will not regret it.
