Yesterday the world lost one of its greatest leaders and one of the most accomplished women ever known. That person would be Margaret Thatcher. You may be wondering why a girl who writes an entertainment blog and is in her twenties is writing about a women who lived in Britain and was involved with politics. Well, let me tell you why. Margaret Thatcher was one of the most celebrated and ridiculed women in the media. Let me just list off for you all the films and shows that have tried to encapsulate the essence of Thatcher over the years:
The Iron Lady Yes the one that stars Meryl Streep
The Queen Although it looked at the Queen of England there was some time in the mini-series that focused on the relationship between the two women.
Margaret This aired on BBC and follows Thatcher in her final days spent in office.
The Rise and Fall of Margaret Thatcher A play all about her ratings and how much they moved and skipped over time.
Not to mention all of the other television shows that poked fun at her and praised her over the years. She was even mentioned in Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery.
It's not a whole handful of them, but when you think about other political figures in history and the films that follow them, there are not many people who can compare. It's a sad day for the world but we can forever remember her and relive her great legacy by watching these films and shows.
