Yesterday I posted on how eager I was to see this movie. Today's post is all about how eager I am for all of you to see it. Side Effects is one of the best thrillers that I have seen in a very long time. The psychiatry world is woven in so well. Like I mentioned yesterday the movie surrounds a New York City couple who are going through some tough times. Emily, played by Rooney Mara, has a history of depression and after a suicide attempt is now being treated by Dr. Jonathon Banks, played by Jude Law. All of the sudden Channing Tatum is dead and there is no where to look for the blame except for Emily. I am not going to tell you anything else about the movie. I hate when you read a post on a thriller and someone ruins it for you. Whether they meant to or not, it sucks quite frankly. I wish I could give it away because I have some really funny jokes up my sleeve about what does take place. But maybe in a few weeks I will just make a meme with my joke and post it for all of your enjoyment.
What I will tell you, is that you will not be sorry if you go see this film. The casting was fabulous. I knew before viewing this that Jude Law was epicly fantastic, and now I know that he is even more than that. His performance is right on key and flawless. Rooney Mara is getting some criticism for her role, for not being attached enough to the character. But I think you will agree with me when you see the film, that that's exactly the kind of thing her character needed. No emotional attach was needed and all I can say is that she is creepy!! She was the perfect choice for the role in my opinion. The storyline is extremely well done and the twists and turns that keep hitting you make you sit there is utter confusion while you love every second of it. I can usually figure out a thriller, but even when I thought I had this nut cracked, there was more behind it.
And that is all I going to say other than: just get to the theater and see this one. If you don't want to fight the elements of snow this weekend on the east coast, then go next week. You do not want to miss this one! Plus, I want everyone to see it so that I can post my meme. So go now!
