Watch of the Week

I thought for a really long time about this week's movie. I want to pick a movie that you guys may have not heard of but at the same time I want to pick a movie that you will actually all watch. Last time I wrote this post I chose a thriller, so I decided to veer in an entirely different direction. My genre of choice then became chick flick. When you think about chick flicks, most people have one of two reactions. First reaction: they love them and have seen them over and over again. Or, they can't stand any movie that may get this title or kind of acknowledgment. I think that within this genre there is some serious range though that should be paid attention to. That's why I chose to write this post on this particular movie because it has more depth than your average chick flick.

I love a movie that is realistic. I know that we all want the happy fairy-tale ending, but sometimes it's nice to watch a movie where everyone doesn't always get exactly what they want. I don't know about you, but when I am single and watching a movie where the girl gets the guy in the end no matter what random and hilarious events have transpired, I kind of feel like a failure. Movies have the ability to tear us apart and build us back up. I sometimes like to watch a chick flick that never truly tears you down. That's why the Watch of the Week is The Break Up.

Things that are great about this movie....well other than everything I have already delved into, this movie is hysterical. It's true to life in the way that it truly represents what people do in a break up. They do things to make the other person jealous, they explore their newfound freedom whether they are happy with that fact or not, and they dream about their life. The acting in this film is also spot-on with the ever-graceful Jennifer Aniston. Opposite of Aniston is Vince Vaughn. The two have great chemistry, and we all know why. In case you forget, Aniston and Vaughn dated because of this film. Coincidentally, they broke up after filming. I wonder if the movie that they were filming played any part in that. Either way, this movie is a good one to watch no matter where you are in your life. Pop a bag of popcorn and watch it.
