Pitched Perfect

Yes, you did read that correctly. The title of the box office top charting movie is Pitch Perfect but the storyline was pitched perfect. This movie is exactly what you would expect to get, its much like Accepted and House Bunny. The difference here is the cast. As we all know, as I remind you all time and time again, the cast is what makes a film great. A screenwriter can make the greatest script you have ever seen, but the actors are what bring it to life. The life is definitely present in Pitch Perfect.

The movie, if you are not familiar with it, follows an a cappella group of female students at Barden University called the Barden Bella's. Going with the theme and genre of the film, the Bella's suck and need a way to make a comeback. The two seniors who are left to run this sad group are played by Brittany Snow and Anna Camp. Snow has her role down. I have always liked whatever smaller roles she has had. She isn't an A-list star by any means, but the work that she does is always done well. Anna Camp on the other hand could have been replaced. Her acting was sub-par and her mean girl, controlling attitude did not come through in the way that the writers hoped it would. But regardless, these seniors are looking for girls to help them make a comeback. That comeback comes in the form of Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson. These two girls are definitely coming up in the acting world. I love Anna Kendrick, especially her work in  Up In The Air. Rebel Wilson has made headlines from Bridesmaids and What to Expect When You're Expecting. She is being called the next Melissa McCarthy. I can see it, she has the humor and the timing that an actress in comedy needs to thrive and survive.

These two girls along with six others help to change the face of the Barden Bella's. I am sure you can all use your inferencing skills to figure out what happens, but this movie is worth seeing anyway. The one liners that are weaved throughout make it almost like the next Mean Girls. It's very quotable and will bring out the laughs. Go check it out.
