Most Shocking News!
1. Melissa McCarthy, Best Supporting Actress for Bridesmaids
  The Oscars do not usually nominate in the comedy category. The comedies usually get swept under the rug and passed by. However, this is amazing that she was nominated! This is a huge game changer for her career, whether she wins or not. The winning is an extreme long shot with those that she is in ranks with. However, I believe that she should win. The role that she played was not only hilarious and well done but it was completely outside her box of her norm. She truly showed her brightest colors and the depth and strength in acting. I am proud of her either way.

2. Harry Potter did not get nominated for anything...not true but seems like it. The film was nominated for Art Direction and for Best Makeup. I truly do not believe it will win for either category though. Especially makeup when it is up against Albert Nobbs, hello drag! And The Iron Lady in which I am pretty sure the makeup artist had to add ten pounds of makeup to Meryl's neck for the bigger part of the film.

3. Jonah Hill being nominated for Best Supporting Actor. I think it is surprising but maybe he will win. We will see.

Overall, I think the nominations are not meeting the public with acceptance. A lot of people think that many were left off the list this year. I think the nominations for the most part look great. I am even more excited for the show. I am starting the official countdown on my phone. Don't forget to watch the Screen Actor's Guild Awards this Sunday!
