I'm back...from space. In reality I'm back from my too long of a hiatus. I'm sorry to all of my loyal readers sounds there, I pledge to be a more consistent blogger.
I say I'm back from space because I just got back from seeing Gravity. It's truly a poignant, beautiful, enthralling and intense film. Without giving too much away I want you to understand the power of this movie. Sandra Bullock gives a stunning performance, one that rivals against her own in The Blind Side. She brings the same dedication to her craft in this film, but goes even deeper into the role. She allows herself to be engulfed by the character. What's onscreen isn't Bullock but instead Ryan Stone, a medical engineer stuck in outer space. She is aided by the ever-charming and ever-gorgeous George Clooney. Together the two are a match made in heaven. Seeing them interact onscreen is like feeling that everything is right in the world. Which is alarmingly ironic since the film centers around catastrophes in space.
As I am terrified of space (an irrelevant fear, I know because I don't have to venture out there) I was nervous to see this film. That being said I would have been missing out on something amazing. From the acting to the cinematography to everything in between this 90 minute film leaves you with a feeling of awe. I won't be surprised when Bullock receives nominations up the wazoo for this one. She deserves every single one of them. Head to the theater and see what I'm talking about for yourself this weekend!
