Yesterday, the second trailer for Catching Fire premiered at Comic Con and it exploded overnight on the internet. This movie is going to be the biggest splash of the year. There haven't been a lot of other Hollywood blockbusters this year. Man of Steel was a flop and Lone Ranger is not on the same level at all. So Catching Fire has the potential to be the hit of the year. It's predecessor Hunger Games was brilliant and obviously gained impressive attention. I have high hopes for this next installment in the series.
My main issue with the first film seems to be carrying into this next film as well. When reading Suzanne Collins's books I didn't see that President Snow character as so large and in charge. Yes, he had a lot to do with the story, but the movies have created scenes and conversations that never took place and they have in turn placed a much larger emphasis on him as a character. I have the foresight, having read all three of the books, to know why the films had to do this, however I still don't agree with making him such a large force throughout the movies.
Hopefully, Catching Fire will focus more on the relationships and less on fitting every single event into the time restraints of the film. I am excited however, that the trailer ends with Katniss coming up into the arena. I am anxious to see how they change the arena for the Quarter Quell. Have you seen the trailer yet?
