Gwyneth Paltrow is everywhere today. Seriously, she announced that she wants a talk show like Ellen. She is on the cover of Entertainment Weekly and Glamour. No, I am not stupid. I know the reason for this is that Iron Man 3 comes out tonight at midnight. I just don't get the allure behind her.
I have never been a fan of her work or her person. She always seems like one of those stars who is only a successful actress because of who she is connected to. Funny that she seems like that, because it's exactly the case. She is the goddaughter of Steven Spielberg (who coincidentally also is the godfather of Drew Barrymore, who I also think has little actual talent). I am not saying that she is a bad actress, because I couldn't agree with that statement. In my eyes she is simply just mediocre. Like I don't understand all the hub-bub and big news about her all the time. I can see why she was cast in Iron Man though because the need for the role was fulfilled. I haven't seen all of these movies, but yet I know that the role she is in does not need to be filled by a great and beyond talented actress. It needed to be filled by someone like Paltrow who is famous enough to make the front cover of the Bluray look interesting enough and can support the lead, while at the same time being nowhere close to actually stealing the show. Hate me if you want to, but I just had to rant about this. It's one of those things that drives me crazy. I am anxiously awaiting the day when Paltrow does something that makes me cry, or feel a strong range of emotions.
I care about the entertainment industry and the people who are involved, and sometimes it just seems like someone payed someone else's meal ticket. Yes, you can say this about a lot more celebrities other than Gwyneth Paltrow and Drew Barrymore, but this is my blog and I do what I want. I am also sure that most of you agree with this post whether you would admit it or not.
