The internet imploded today with very special news: Finding Nemo's long awaited sequel got it's official name, plot and release date. That's right, if you haven't heard yet Finding Dory will be released on November 25, 2015. We still have some time before we get to see it, but thankfully we finally know that it's real and definitely going to happen.
Ellen DeGeneres will return to play Dory and the original director, Andrew Stanton, will be returning as well. DeGeneres released a statement that should how overwhelmed with joy she is to be renewing this character. I can only hope that the rest of the cast will return as well. From the news that has surfaced, many of the original characters including Marlin and Nemo will entertain us, while new characters will also be added as well. The plot focuses on Dory a year after the first movie ended and how she finds her family.
This is one of those movies that will go right up there with the Toy Story franchise. Pixar and Disney have a natural knack for creating stories that can easily turn into sequels. The real key to their success is having enough behind the characters and the storylines so that people of all ages look forward to connecting with them again. Their success has not gone unnoticed either. Finding Nemo was the first Pixar film to win an Academy Award and it definitely started the trend as well. Right now 7 out of 12 films have won their nominations. I am beyond excited for film and I know that everyone who is five and all the way up to eighty-two is waiting for this film.
