Where Were You When the Lights Went Out at the Superbowl?

I may be acting a bit too dramatic, but I know that a lot of sports fans are going to ask this question if not discuss it in detail in ten years. Last night's game was one for the books. I love being a part of the human race on nights like last night. It's great when a whole bunch of people bond over a common experience, whether it's an award show or a sporting event, I can always appreciate that part of it. I am not a big sports fan. Like really, I love the Yankees, I support the Royals and I generally cheer on UConn in every sport because I grew up watching my dad root for them. But I have to say that I genuinely enjoyed everything about the Superbowl last night. All the parts with Beyonce, the twitter hilarity, and even the game. Here's why:

First off did you see Queen Beyonce last night?! I mean we all know who is queen of the film world, but Beyonce is definitely on top of the entertainment world. Digging around in history today I read about all of the Superbowl halftime performers over the years. With the exception of Michael Jackson, Beyonce is really the only single person who has been highlighted in this way. We can all agree that she is beautiful and talented but she has literally become iconic. Those songs were amazing, the choreography was sick, her outfit was amazing and the whole show was way too short. I could have used another hour of Beyonce, which is why I will be trying to win tickets to see her on her newly announced tour later on this year!

Secondly, everyone loves a little family rivalry. I know, that's bad to admit; however, you know reading this that it is ultimately true. We all love to soak up a problem in someone else's family because it makes us feel good to know it happens somewhere outside the four walls of our family tree. So that's why this Superbowl was epic. The teams were seriously raring at one another because the head coaches  Jim and John Harbaugh are brothers! There was some serious sibling rivalry going on and I have to say it definitely added to the game.

Third, that power outage was epic on Twitter. After the initial worry that something was seriously wrong, Twitter broke out with the most hilarious tweets ever! I was refreshing and refreshing continually on my phone so that I could read them aloud to the room. Twitter is a great place to be at all times, but especially when it comes to an event that is unpredictable and historical. And yes, although this was just a power outage at a sports game, it truly was historical. Trust me, entertainment relies on common ties between people and this is going to be something that will be talked about for quite some time.

The game itself wasn't bad either. That Jacoby Jones is a talented athlete, he broke a record when scoring that touchdown off of a kickoff last night. I obviously don't know what I am talking about when it comes to football, but I do know that that guy is fast! I also want to thank The Ravens for winning the game because that led me to being able to wear jeans to work today! You guys made my Monday. I hope you all enjoyed the game, and make sure you check out my post from last night featuring my favorite tweets of the night.
