I got to see Safe Haven last night. That's the new Nicholas Spark's movie starring Josh Duhamel and Julianne Hough. I wrote a post about a month ago about my worries for the film. If you have read any of the Sparks books and then seen one of the many movies, usually nothing more than the basic storyline seems to match up. I would like to congratulate whoever is behind Safe Haven because for the most part is was very continuous with the book. It's quite the achievement because this is his eighth book that has been crafted into a film and none of them really match up with the exception of The Notebook.
If you are looking for the ultimate Valentines Day movie then you should go see this one with your valentine. It's very well done with just a dab of suspense. Those of you who have read the book know what I am talking about. And if you are wondering if every part of the storyline is kept, I am tell you that it is. Even her friend Jo is included in the movie. Duhamel and Hough have great on-screen chemistry and I enjoyed Hough more than I ever have in a role before. The kids are also adorable and well cast. The little girl's name is Mimi Kirkland and I am sure that we are going to see a lot more from her in the future. Check it out this weekend and enjoy your Valentines Day.
