Whether you got your perfect New Year's kiss last night or not, sometimes it's fun to live vicariously through another person's life. So why not live through the lives of characters in film??
1. When Harry Met Sally
This is not only one of the best movies of all time, but it does have the best New Year's scene. It's the culmination of the whole film and the best friendship turning into a romance. You can watch it over and over and over again, and it won't get old.
2. New Year's Eve
The whole film is about the most magical night of the year. There isn't one specific scene that stands out, but there are a few you could lose. Overall, the film still comes in at the number two spot because of the whole outlook. It's rosy, cherry and in the spirit that anything can happen.
3. Sex and the City: The Movie
The best rendition of "Auld Lang Syne" I have ever heard sets the tone for a great New Year's Eve scene. Sometimes it's not about who you kiss at midnight but about the friends who are always there for you: Miranda always can count on Carrie.
4. Bridget Jones Diary
Making out in the snow with Colin Firth, I think that tops the charts.
5. Sleepless in Seattle
Although the New Year's scene isn't the highlight of the film it's still sweet. This film also gives Meg Ryan a second spot on my list.
6. While You Were Sleeping
I love this movie so much. Sandra Bullock is the best: pretending to be engaged to an unconscious man but really falling for his brother. What's better than that?
