Anne Hathaway Rises

Literally just walked in the door from seeing The Dark Knight Rises. First off, I really have no words about the film as a whole other than it is fantastic. I know there is a lot surrounding the film and I still offer my deepest condolences to those in Aurora, but the film itself is utterly amazing.

As we all know, Anne Hathaway stars as Selina Kyle in this film. And, as most of us all know, I am not the biggest fan of hers. I even put her on my list of Top Ten Stars that I Just Don't Care For. So, you may be wondering why I am even writing a blog post about her.

Well, earlier today I watched The Devil Wears Prada and my sister and I had a huge discussion about the actress. She said she isn't as bad as we like to think she is. She is exactly right. I don't always give her the credit that she deserves, I just don't feel that she has previously lived up to her potential. WELL, she is rising, because she is definitely living up to her potential now.

I found myself rooting for her in every scene, wishing and praying that she would succeed. That she would become good and not keep in her jewel thieving, evil ways. I wanted her to be with Batman and to see the two of them make it. I mean seriously, here I am sitting in the theater, willing this character to live and conquer evil. Seriously, willing a character that Anne Hathaway is portraying...it was unreal. She definitely rises to the occasion.

I am more hopeful for Les Miserables now than I have ever been before. This is the coming of a new age, where Anne Hathaway holds her ground and shows the world her acting abilities.
