St. Patrick's Day Movies

I love St. Patrick's Day. I am fifty percent Irish, so that may have something to do with it, but there is also so many fun things to do to celebrate. You can eat corned beef, wear lots of green, go on a pub crawl, dance around with leprechauns or watch one of the great (and sometimes corny) movies listed below! Enjoy!

Waking Ned Devine
Not only is this a fantastic movie for this time of year, but it truly is an awesome film. The plot focuses on a small town in Ireland. Someone in town wins the lottery, but no one is sure of who it is. Once it is discovered by a friend that Ned Devine won, he is also found dead and his friends cook up a plan to keep the money! It's hysterical, well-written and even better cast.

The Big Green
This movie has nothing to do with St. Patrick's Day, but nonetheless it's a lot of fun. It was one of my favorite movies as a kid. It's got that timeless 90's Disney humor that everyone my age is still searching for in most kid programs. The team is called the Big Green and they suck, but because it's a Disney movie they of course become amazing and defeat everyone in their league.

Riverdance: The Best of Riverdance
Laugh as much as you want, but these dancers are talented. I have had neighbors that participated in Riverdance and although it sounds lame, it is seriously cool. You could pop this in the DVD player and kick back with your favorite brewski.

The Luck of the Irish
Another Disney movie: yes, another classic: yes. This kid turns into a leprechaun. I ask you what's better than that? A lot of things, but you cannot go wrong when watching this movie.
