I have to tell you guys that at this point, I am about to pee my pants in excitement. I know that is not an image that you wanted to picture, nor a phrase that you ever thought you would read on this blog, but it is true! I am so over the top excited for the Academy Awards. I have everything set to tape on my DVR. Even though I will be watching the whole thing live, you never know when you can have to rewind for a two second blip or a joke. I mean I watched Meryl's acceptance speech about four times last year!
This is the day that we honor the best of Hollywood and where the whole award show season comes to it's culmination! It's spirited, amazing, brilliant and sometimes brutal depending on who wins. I am so excited to see the results, but absolutely terrified in other respects (especially where Hugh Jackman is concerned).
So here is the news that you should all be aware of. Some very cool presenters have been added to the list including Melissa McCarthy, Liam Neeson, Selma Hayek Pinault, and John Travolta. Other people who will be special guests are Jennifer Aniston, Michael Douglas, Jamie Foxx, Paul Rudd, Daniel Radcliffe, Charlize Theron, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Mark Wahlberg, Robert Downey Jr. and Samuel L. Jackson to name a few.
There is also a whole segment of the show that is going to be dedicated to musicals in the past decade. Musicals have really resurfaced in the past ten years and the Academy has taken notice. They are having the casts of Chicago, Dreamgirls and Les Miserables meet up to perform. I don't know any more details, but no matter what, it's bound to be exciting.
Tune in starting at 1:30 pm on E! for Red Carpet coverage and follow me @jentertainment7 for all my thoughts!
