This Is The End is literally an epic film. So many great people were involved in this project including Seth Rogen, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride and Craig Robinson. The talent literally floods the screen. Seth Rogen cowrote the screenplay and you can definitely tell from the very first scene. It's like a giant combination of Pineapple Express, She's Out Of My League, Knocked Up and a couple of other gems.
The movie runs for a total of 107 minutes and you will laugh until you start to pee. The fact that the actors are playing themselves is the best part, you truly feel like you are a fly on the wall in James Franco's house. You feel like you are part of the party and that this is how these guys really act when they hang out and smoke on the weekends. It's dirty jolly good fun that starts to get old about 88 minutes in. However, the plot was well written because at that precise moment, the plot changes up and you feel yourself getting sucked in again. The acting is amazing but the chemistry between the guys is the what makes the outlandish plot twist on the apocalypse more believable (not to mention that Michael Cera and Emma Watson add to this mix).
All that being said, this movie is not for people who don't enjoy sick humor. It is a typical Rogen film and it includes lots of cursing, inappropriate jokes and crazy behavior. I would not recommend any children seeing it.
