Just heard the news today, and I could not be more excited! Lauren Weisberger is officially writing a sequel to The Devil Wears Prada. If you have not read the book or seen the movie, you should seriously do one of those things right now. The book was great, and I did read it before seeing the film. Weisberger has a great voice when writing and I could imagine the characters as real people, living out their lives in New York City. The film was a form of magic that rarely comes along in cinema, mixing Stanley Tucci, Emily Blunt, and of course the ever famous Meryl Streep's abilities into one comical film that was even better than the pages it came from originally. I quote this movie pretty much daily and everyone who sees it says the same: it's nothing short of amazing.
Of course there is no word if this sequel of a book will be turned into a sequel of a movie. One can only hope, and as for this girl, I have all of my fingers crossed. The new book is set up several years down the road. Andie has done very well for herself and is now running a company with her arch-rival now friend, Emily (portrayed by Emily Blunt). Somehow Andie is still followed around by Miranda and never seems to get the voice out of her head. That is all that has been confirmed at these early stages, but I will keep you all updated! I am excited to watch this story unravel.
